![]() ![]() My phone, Motox Pure Edition, has a hotspot app built into the settings. The fine print on the new unlimited data plan says that they drop you down to 3G speeds after 10GB and I think they have the option to drop you down even lower than that. ![]() If the old plan isn't throttled then you would want to keep it. I'm not sure if the old unlimited plans do but I have one and need to find out. Ive read a bunch of tech geek articles, they all say "it depends" on stuff like data usage. What says the room please? Anyone have the new unlimited data for a month or so? After 10gigs they throttle the hotspot to 3g, but they said they will never throttle phone data. Or.if i switch to a new unlimited data plan, through the phone i will get unlimited data, talk, and text, dropping my present bill by $93/mo, AND a free hotspot for the phone. So i called to pay the hotspot charges directly through verizon, and they offered to do that for $100/mo plus a tiered through-data charge for data that i already pay for. I dont want to jailbreak because then you cant ever let the phone update, there is some minimal risk of paperweighting the phone, etc. Well, Nougat update for the S7 slammed the unauthorized hotspot. When i travel, its always faster and more stable than the hotel network. ![]() Every time i think aboht Verizon, somebody asks me to release my unlimited data.īut i stream netflix at lunch and surf using my phone as a hotspot. Ive kept it all these years, getting screwed over and over for things other than data, like voice and data charges, and the rest of my family cant use a shared data plan because of mine. I was forced into a $40/mo unlimited data plan back when blackberries were smart phones, because i used it for work email. ![]()
